Hello 5N Families,
We learned a lot about First Nations and Canadian histroy today through the blanket exercise! Ask your child what they learned. There may be some heavy topics that come up and I would encourage you to pursue answers and further understanding alongside your child about this very important topic. A great place to start is the Truth and Reconcilation website. If you scroll down to the bottom of the page there is a list of resources to learn more.
Student-led conferences are coming up on March 14th. Registration is open for parents to book a 30 minute time slot where you will come to the classroom and your child will walk you through some of the learning we have done of the last couple of months. Click here to book a time.
We have been hard at work in science building weather instruments to measure two types of weather phenomena (e.g. rain, wind, temperature). Students will have one more hour to complete their project and write up tomorrow and are expected to be finished by the end of the day. Students that may not be able to finish what they have left in the hour tomorrow have been asked to work on the project at home tonight so that they can finish in time. We have been looking at division in math and will be having an assessment on Monday to see where students are at with division. Students will bring their notes and some practice home over the weekend. Thank you for your support at home in ensuring they understand the concepts taught.
Please see below for a note from Mr. Keller and some of his students that are looking for your help with a few mintues of your time!
Hello Westmount Families!
We are a group of students taking part in the Technovation Challenge and we need YOUR help! We need as many people as possible to complete our survey to help us understand our target audience. It shouldn't take very long and the data will be anonymous! Thanks for helping us out!
