5M- Feb 8, 2018

Hi 5M Families,

Just a reminder that students will have the DARE ceremony tomorrow from 9:45am -10:30am. You are welcome to come and join us in celebrating your son/ daughter. We asked that students be dressed nicely for the ceremony please.

In our learning, we are working on:

Read-A-Thon: reading as much as we can! We are charting our reading minutes daily, and students are using this to graph their progress. Students are encouraged to get pledges to help the school fundraise for extra bussing, PE equipment, Musical Instruments etc. Every little donation helps!

Writing: What do all good stories have? Be sure to ask your son/ daughter what the 4 elements are to have a bold story beginning!

Math: Moving into understanding decimals, fractions and percentages!

Science: Understanding weather patterns, high and low pressure systems and also unique conditions that create our natural disasters.

Social: Continuing learning about our first nations groups at the point of first contact with the Europeans.

Health: Goal setting and nutrition. We are also asking the students to refocus their attention to a subject that may need a little more TLC or work!

Art: Sketching techniques and perspective

Have a great week and thank you for taking the time to read the blog!
