November 14 Kindergarten Update

We had a great nature walk today!  We visited a new (to us) park with lots of trees and played camouflage, a game that's a little bit like hide-and-go seek.  Ask your child if they remember what "camouflage" is in nature.  We used the example of the snowshoe hare today.  Another highlight for students was seeing deer poop in the park - we could tell it gets used by lots of animals!

This morning, we learned the letter sounds for "k" and "g" (hard g, like "gorilla", only).  Students were very good at deciding which words were "k" words, and which words were "g" words.  We also practiced writing the capital letter "E", and students showed very good penmanship!  We visited Ms. Elo in the library, who read us a story about kindness, and students exchanged books.
