Here is some info regarding up-coming Christmas concerts;

This year, the Elementary classes will perform their Christmas Concert on December 13 and 14, while Grade 6 – 9 Band Students will perform at their own Band Christmas Concert on December 7.

This change allows for families to attend at one start time each night, rather than split the families by alphabet as in previous years.

Thursday, December 7: Christmas Band Concert, Grades 6-9 Band Students

Wednesday, December 13, 7:00-8:30 PM: Westmount Christmas Concert 1 (Classes: 1P, 2N, 3S, 3E, 4M, 5H, 5N, and all Ms. New Kindergarten Students)

Thursday, December 14, 7:00 – 8:30 PM: Westmount Christmas Concert 2 (1M, 1D, 2W, 3W, 4C, 4E, 5K, 5M and all Ms. Campbell's Kindergarten Students)

Regarding academics;

Literacy - you've noticed I was NOT successful in attaching spelling lists. I will work with Sheena Johnson on that and get it done. There is a will, so there MUST be a way!!  We have identified the four main foundations to good reading; word accuracy, expanding our vocabulary, fluency and of course our over-all comprehension of what we just read. The kids can tell you in detail what each of these foundations mean. Do you know where you are at as far as your reading ability?

Math - finishing up Place Value. Quiz will be just around the corner.

SS - finishing up mapping unit. Also, quiz just around the corner. Have you identified the country you would like to do some research on and create a small poster of?

Science - great big words!!! We have washed and studied and marveled and ou-ed and aw-ed over our rocks. We have categorized and sorted and classified our rocks. And NOW, for some MORE GREAT BIG WORDS;  metamorphic, sedimentary and igneous. What do those words mean when it comes to rocks? Rocks rock!!

It's a full week this week and next!  Enjoy the warm weather while it lasts!
