Printing lower case 'c'

Today we started Handwriting Without Tears. Since most students know how to print the capital letters, we started with lower case magic 'c'. This letter is the basis for printing many lower case letters. If your child prints at home, please remind them to always 'start at the top.' (A young child's natural inclination is to start at the bottom line and to go up, however, this makes forming some letters correctly very awkard). We also reviewed the sound that 'c' made. See if your child can identify different objects at home that begin with the 'c' sound (don't worry if the word actually starts with a 'k' or a 'c' because they both make the same sound). Here is a photo of 4 students' work today.
