3W October 10th, 2017 Day 4

Good Evening 3W Families,

I hope everyone had a great weekend with their families.  The children had a lot to share this morning about their extra time at home/on the road!

Last Thursday, I enjoyed a Math workshop and hope to start using some of the great books as soon as they arrive! We have been working on patterning and place value (skip counting on and off multiples of 2, 3,4,5, 10, and 25 up to 1,000).

The Grade 3 rock walk will be postponed to next Tuesday October the 17, as the weather is predicted to be much warmer and sunnier. If you offered to volunteer, please let me know if you can or cannot help on the 17th. We are very short for volunteers and still need a driver for backpacks as well. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU CAN HELP US OUT! :)

We continue to work on animal life cycles in Science, but will be moving into rocks and minerals so that both units are complete by the first report card.

In Social Studies, we are working on mapping and learning about the 7 continents. We will have a short mapping quiz next week (end of week). Date TBA.

We are on the lookout for a student's missing winter boots! Please ensure your child wore the correct boots home on Thursday. Please print your child's name inside of his/her boots to ensure mix ups are easier to solve!

Thank you,

Mrs. Wurz
