Week of September 18-22

Hello 3W,

Bottle Volunteer: I am searching for 1 volunteer to help return bottles to the bottle depot for the month of September. Each month a Grade 3 class is in charge of our bottle recycling. We save the money and put it words supplies, activites, or field trips throughout the year. September is 3W's month to be responsible for them. You would help by assisting your child (who can carry the bag of bottles out to you) to take the bottles to the depot, collect the money, return the receipt and the money on the next school day. It is easiest to complete this on Thursday or Friday and is done every other week. It will need to be done this upcoming week! Please email me if you are able to help out our Grade 3 team!  3W's next month (after September) will be December.

Just a reminder that TOMORROW morning is our hike to Fish Creek Park. We have found enough volunteers. Thank you!  We will be travelling by bus and will be leaving the school at about 8:50am and returning at approximately 3:00 pm on the day of our hike. It is imperative you’re your child is on time for school.

Please ensure your child has a water bottle, sunscreen, an adequate bagged snack and lunch and appropriate outdoor shoes/clothing.  DRESS FOR ALL WEATHER! CPAWS asks that students bring a garbage-free lunch or pack out all of their own waste as there are no garbage receptacles available. Remember, Cub Café or microwavable lunches will not be an option. PLEASE DO NOT WEAR SANDLES.

We will be starting up with RAZ Kids this week to help supplement home reading. Please ensure your child is reading for 20 minutes each day.

Thursday, September 21 Is Meet the Teacher from 4:00-5:00  the teachers would love to meet you!  Come and look at the classrooms, subscribe to your classroom BLOG and say hello!

September 22nd is a PD day so no school for students.

Orange Shirt Day will be celebrated September 29th this year.  This event is to honour the survivors and lost children of residential schools. We would like to see all of our students wearing Orange Shirts on this day. Orange Shirt Day is also an opportunity for First Nations, local governments, schools and communities to come together in the spirit of reconciliation and hope for generations of children to come.
Please ask your students to wear orange shirts on the 29th, or they can order from the following link.
If you would like to order shirts ($10.00 each) and learn more about the story here is the website.

Enjoy your Sunday!
