Welcome to our Kindergarten Blog!  We have had a great start to our school year.  We were all finally together today, for our first day as a whole class!  We read the story "Miss Bindergarten Gets Ready for Kindergarten", and made posters about ourselves for the bulletin board outside our classroom.  We also spent some time in our outdoor classroom, and students each chose a "special spot" that they will visit every week, to spend mindful time in nature.  Today was picture day, and the students all looked spiffy!

Packages went home with students this afternoon.  Please read through the package carefully, fill out all of the forms, and return it to school as soon as possible.  These forms are necessary in order to post pictures, go on walking field trips, and to ensure the quickest possible communication between you and the school.

This week we have class on Thursday and Friday.  The forecast is for chilly, rainy weather, so please make sure students dress warmly, with rubber boots, rain jackets, and rain pants for going outside.  We will go outside every day, unless there is indoor recess due to extreme cold.  On Friday, students have their first music and gym class, and will meet their grade 4 reading buddies from Mr. Campbell's class.

September is focused on learning our school routines and building stamina for learning.  In October, I will be welcoming volunteers into our classroom to help with our learning.  Stay tuned for details in the upcoming weeks!
