What a wonderful way to wrap up the year. Thank you parent volunteers for helping to make this happen. Couldn’t do it without you! Thank you kids! You guys are awesome!
And welcome, officially, to SUMMER. We greeted the morning sun on Summer Solstice by going to the top of the hill and singing “This Pretty Planet”. We noted that the sun was already well up into the summer sky at 8:50; about 45 degrees (and we all know what that means), in comparison to our Winter Solstice walk on Dec.21, at the same time of day, when the sun was just rising (at zero degrees).
This pretty planet…..indeed!
And here is a little bit of ration work, with treats. We were learning about ratios this week, and comparing the difference between ratios and fractions.
It’s almost a wrap! Good grief. Melancholy? Or not! Monday is Sportsday. It’s gonna be hot. Be prepared with hat, sun-block, repellent, snacks, water etc. But it’s gonna be fun!
On Tuesday we will plan a community walk – it’s pay back time (everyday is pay-back time).
On Wednesday, we will tidy up; all though things will be coming home on a daily basis next week. We’ll spread it out a bit.
On Thursday, we’ve decided we’d like to do a PJ half-day, have some snacks, play some games, and watch a movie. At 11:30 or so, families are invited to show up to our dismantled class for a sing along / slideshow of our terrific year.
“Music makes pictures, and pictures tell stories, all of it magic, and all of it true. In all of the pictures and in all of the stories, in all of the magic, the music is you”.
Have a wonderful first weekend of Summer! Get out there and get some sunshine. It doesn’t last long!
