Welcome to Summer! Yahooo!! So, who says it’s summer? What’s the meaning behind that?
Happy be-lated fathers day dads. We got to experiment with our acrylic paints again. We only were given five colours; the three primaries and black and white. What a marvellous creation. No two alike.
We are wrapping up our year in math by combining a unit in measurement with some Track N Field events. Wow! One hundred metres and 17 seconds never felt so long! On your mark, get set……go!! This week and next, we are working on our multiples of 6.
In Literacy time we are engaged in writing our own stories. In word work we are on unit 29!
Sadly, we departed with our baby chicks on Friday. They’ve gone back to the farm, where they came from. Time to see mama!! The chicks and our butterflies were fantastic to have in the classroom while we learned about and experienced first hand, animal life cycles.
I don’t want to say goodbye, I don’t want this day to end But we will be happy together tomorrow, together tomorrow my friend.
Not only did we learn about the life cycle, but we also got to learn about how to handle the baby birds.
Thank you once again for the tremendous amount of volunteers that offered to join us on our field trip this Friday. I think I have contacted all of you by phone or e-mail, and we are set as to who is coming. If someone cancels at the last moment, I might be calling. But again, thank you. We couldn’t do a trip like this without your help!
Have a great evening. Summer begins officially at 10:24 MDT pm…….so I’m told!! Happy Summer Solstice!
