Grade 7-9 Musical Theatre



Congratulations to all of our musical theatre students showing such hard work and commitment throughout our rehearsal and audition processes. Casting will be revealed around the date of January 22nd and we are excited to begin our new adventure with our production: Lucky Lucky Hudson.

Students and parents, please make sure to frequently check in with the Rehearsal Schedule posted as this contains many of the important rehearsal dates, times and as well as some information regarding performance week. 

Students will now begin the process of making this play come to life through line memorization, characterization, choreography and choral work.

*Note: Our first full cast rehearsal is scheduled for Tuesday, January 30th from 3:30 – 5:00 pm


We are very excited to be back for another great year with our musical theatre program at Westmount School! Students have had the opportunity to view and ask questions regarding musical theatre calendar and course outline on the second day of class so they know when our group practices/ outside of school commitments will begin. The calendar will be available to students and parents by the end of next week.

Throughout the month of September, our Musical Theatre Class will be working through the “Orientation” and levels, 1, 2 and 3 of the “Movement Discipline” of the Alberta Program of Studies.  Areas of focus include team building, body awareness, creative movement, mime and tableau.
